IHI Data Centralization Initiative

Over the years, Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) community has produced enormous amount of research data. IHI growth as a World-class research institute necessitates the need to make our data public. Data centralization initiative aims at allowing the translation of research results into knowledge, products, and procedures to improve human health. The initiative will make it possible for other scientists to replicate, validate, or correct IHI research results, thereby improving the scientific record.

The initiative is also geared towards responding to calls of different funders, donors and the research community at large in making research data available in public to avoid duplication of effort and save costs. Our online portal hosts data of ongoing projects at different levels of implementation together with legacy data.

Public data -- our definition of making data public is allowing authorized access to any interested individuals or organizations to access and use our data for scientific purposes. IHI reserves the ownership of the intellectual property of the data and hence should be notified prior any use and be acknowledged once the data is used.

IHI welcomes our partners in research to access our system in retrieving the data sets or storing data using our platform. We value the need to preserve your data for your own future use – the metadata stored with the data make it possible for sharing data with others. Organizations storing data in our platform will benefit by being able to identify, retrieve, and understand the data in case they have lost familiarity with it, years after the particular research studies ended.

Data Availability

The data centralization initiave only displays information about archived data.
